Q: We have a 4-port Linksys router into our basement. I have a for cheap on Amazon and wanted to use it as an access point with a switch.

I followed the guide here http://www.ezlan.net/router_AP.html

DCHP is disabled on the is Netgear connected via port 3 on the Linksys to port 1 on the Netgear. Netgear has a static IP address of 192.168.100.151 (changed from 192.168.0.1) and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a gateway of 192.168.100.1 (DHCP address from the Linksys router), I manually entered the dns servers .

I can not connect to the to change settings more. It works wirelessly at the moment, but it is not completely locked. How would I access the to get the settings to change?

Internet works, Im posting wirelessly right now, but I want to be able to get back in and lock it all.

Best Answer: If your settings were incorrect it wouldn't connect at all.
It's either a faulty router, or more likely a problem with the land-line.
Contact your tel-co to analyze the line.

Re:When you log into the linksys router, does it show 192.168.100.151 as the address of the (assuming the linksys router has a page that shows all the connections currently active)?

As a last resort you can reset the (push in the reset button in the back with a pencil) and start over. I have 2 routers configured similarly to yours. When I was setting them up, I kept screwing up and getting locked out of them. Took me a few tries and resets to get it all set up right.

Point your browser to http://192.168.100.151/ . Then you can do whatever you want on the Netgear.

Ive tried that. It won't turn anything up. I get a page not found error in IE.
