PS frying my mobo or video card?! [sound card drivers] [post beeps]
Best Answer: 1) try one card
2) try it in different slot
3) did you uninstall the drivers from the previous cards?
4) try without card and use onboard video to see its its the motherboard.

Re:i think it's interesting that the only video card out of 3 that works is the one THAT DOES NOT need additionaly power from the power supply.
while the x300 is nowhere near the power of the 7900gtx and 1900xt, the system is still 24 hours + prime stable, OC'ed, and can game without hiccups.
I dunno.

Re:plus while the ati showed signs of overheating (artifacts, weird colors), the 7900gtx just DIED. no warning. just died. and no matter what i did i could not get it to boot again…fan blowing on the inside of the case. I know my case is not hot enough to literally fry a vid card without warning.

Re:it's possible but i have fairly good cooling…two 60mm intakes, one 80mm and one 120mm outake. case gets 35 under full load. not too bad.

Re:It's highly unlikely to be your power supply, especialy if it's working with the old card. My question is what kind of cooling you have in your case. The 7900 and x1900 are gonna run a good bit warmer than an X300, so if you case isn't well cooled, it could be that those cards were overheating.
