Question about RAM . looking to upgrade [ram slots] [motherboard]

Q: K has 2 slots for RAM SDRAM. At present, each has a 64MB stick of PC100 SDRAM. Im looking to get two 128s, maybe even two 256s to replace the two 64s, but I have a question. Do I have PC100 or PC133 can I get? PC100 RAM is there now, but I wanted to know if it would work if Im PC133 RAM.
Thanks,
Jesse

Re:I recently tried to upgrade my friend's HP with some PC133 RAM — it wouldn't take both PC133 and 100 together, but it did take the 133 by itself. I had to pull out a PC100 module from one of my systems and use that instead.

Re:K, ill probably end up getting PC100, but another confusing thing I saw…
on pcboost.com (http://www.pcboost.com/), Under the memory section you tell it your manufacturer and model, and the types of ram it said I should get for the Biostar M6TWG was PC133…

Re:PC133 may work for you, as most is backwards compatible… BUT… not always. I have had a couple of machines that would not work with 133… only 100. According to your manual, it appears that it will only run at pc100 speeds, so you would be best to get PC100 and remove the risk of 133 not working. IMHO, anyhow… good luck! :)

Re:k I found the guide to the , heres what it says about RAM:

DRAM Memory
-Supports two 8/16/32/64/128/256MB DIMM module sockets
-Supports Synchronous DRAM (3.3V).
-Supports a maximus memory size of 512MB with SDRAM.
-100MHz Bus frequency.

So does that mean the best I can have is two sticks of 256MB PC-100 SDRAM?

*Edit*
I just found a site that has a section for RAM specifically for my (Biostar M6TWG)
Site (http://discountram.biz/biostar/M6TWG.shtml)
It has PC100 and PC133 ram, so maybe I can use PC133 on my ?

Re:k thx, im still lookin for the manual to my , dont remember where I put it…its really old thouhg, like 1996 or 1997

Re:Most PC133 should be backward compatiable to PC100 speeds. You really need to check your specs and the specs of the ram to be absolutely certian. You shouldn't have any problems though.
