Re:with a KVM, both computers can operate completely independent of each other. As far as each system is concerned, they will think they have their own keyboard, monitor and mouse attached at all times.

Edit: This includes being able to reboot one either or both computers when you feel like it, keeping one on, one off, etc.

Re:Also I know im going O/T … but does anyone know any good Floppy Drive things? I was just going to get a 10$ cheapie but then my friend menchioned to me Multimedia card reading things or something.. and that takes up the only Floppy drive bay I have for the case. But there are some card readers that can take floppy disks and multimedia cards… anyone have any good suggestions?

Re:Sounds pretty cool guys. Would it slow down either computer at all to be like that ? And when I wanted to reboot my computer, would I have to reboot both at the same time or can it be a few seconds off.. or can I just have one usually off and my other usually on and just turn on the other when I want to use it and just switch? (using the same monitor, keyboard, and mouse

Re:If you go to Office Max, they'll show you what device(s) you need to get a mouse, keyboard, monitor switch for multiple computers. That way, you can just use the same key, mou, mon for two different computer operations, but not at once.

Re:Yes, you could do that, or you could get a cheap KVM switch like this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817107128&ATT=KVM+Keyboard+Video+M&CMP=KNC-goog13) and keep both computers on constantly, sharing the keyboard, mouse, and monitor

Or, if you are on a network, you could install something like VNC so you can "take control" of a PC that does not have anything hooked up but power and network cables.
