OK Guys help me out with my K7T Pro 2-A M/B *Update* ![]()
Re:Thanks, I'll hold you to that. If the K7T turbo isn't out soonish, I'll probably go for a K7TPro2A with a thunderbird gurarenteed to 1.2Gig or so
Re:You got it. Give me 2 days and I should have mine done and Ill let you know how it went and my settings!
Re:Cool, so I could go up and down even without un-connecting? Nice
Re:guy, No you can always go down the way I understand it. The Motherboard will then see the Duron haveing and supporting a higher voltage by connecting the L7 Bridges thats all. Im BY Far a pro so Im just going by what Ive seen posted and from other people telling me, so just remember this!
O/C BIOS (http://www.hardwarezone.com/php/pcodes/reviews.php3?_di=2&_aid=2000-11-07+16%3A02%3A34)
Good Luck! ![]()
Re:ok, thanks a lot for the help Buck. Good luck with the Duron btw
The only thing I'm thinking about – once you've connected the bridges for 1.85V or 1.9V, does this mean you can't go back down? Does it 'force' 1.9v and is there a way to undo it??
Re:guy,
Well I heard the O/Cer Bios was made for the MSI K7T-Pro-2 and was not at the time intended for the new MSI K7T-Pro-2A boards. But ive heard of people useing it and working ok on the MSI K7T-Pro-2A boards. But thats just hear say from my end. The O/Cers Bios does give you up to the 1.85 volts were the regular MSI K7T-Pro-2A boards only supports 1.8V. Which is plently unless you plain on O/Cing. I also heard from some one connecting the L7 gets you even up to 1.9 from someone on here. I will soon find out if thats true. The only reason I didnt use the O/Cers Bios is because as BIOS upgrades come out from MSI I want to beable to use them and if your using the O/C bios you wont beable to Flash your bios with out looseing your previous O/C settings. It just depends on the user I guess. But I heard the O/Cer bios has some Ram tweaks also.
Right now Im running my Duron 600@1GHZ. Mulipier X9 and FSB at 111 which gives me 1GHZ. Im wanting to try and see if the extra .5 voltage = 1.85 will give me 10X and if I can get my FSB at 111 still I might just get 1.1GHZ.
When trying and run it at X10 it wont do cold boots. But if i enter the BIOS and set it for X10 it runs fine and stable. I can even let it run all night at 39C idle and even do warm boots. But wont post when trying to do a Cold boot.
BTW the O/Cer Bios is NOT a offical MSI BIOS. You use at your own risk. try doing a search and Im sure youll see more about it.
Athlex,
Yea I bought a "Rear Window Defogger Repair Kit at AutoZone for $6.99 today. Its suppose to be much better connecting the bridges on the Durons then using a pencil.
Re:Cool, thanks Buck. So are there any drawbacks to the 'overclockers' BIOS as oppsed to the latest one? Is it still an official MSi BIOS?
Re:1.8 unless you connect the L7 Bridge or D/L the OCers Bios version of the MSI K7T Pro2. It just so happens I went out today and bought a defogger kit to connect my L7 bridges to get it up to 1.85 on my Duron 600MHZ. I just finished taking my CPU out not 30 seconds ago.
