RHCE-how many have passed on the first attempt? [time tomorrow] [rhce]
Q: Hey, if youre an RHCE step up and let me know . I take the test for the first time tomorrow and Im afraid something but I think Im ready . How many of you thought?
Re:Well got the results today and I passed by a hair… 71% on the RHCE portion of the Install & Config. SO obviously I need to work on the network services part…

Re:Well- took the test today and it is a BEAR!!! Signed my life away in NDAs so I cannot discuss questions and what not but suffice to say if anyone would like a "GENERAL" idea of what to expect…. Let me know and we can take it offline.
I WILL NOT VIOLATE THE NDA… Let me say that upfront but I am more then willing to give you an overview of the weeklong course that I took and how that helped me. Additionally if you think that your knowlegde is enough to take it then you may want to ensure that you know EXACTLY the information that RedHat covers on their website regarding the RHCT & RHCE.
I will post back with my whether or not I passed when I get my last score…

Install & Config ??? Must have 70% on Local & 70% on Network and Security to qualify for the RHCE
Total ???- Guess that I will know next week.

Re:Not polling because I don't have it myself, but one of our guys took a week of class and passed the first time I think. But that's a week of class too…
Re:tried it a few months ago and did a 78.5 on the 8.0 exam. Needed an 80.
Wasn't terribly hard. You really have to know your stuff to have a chance of remotely finishing it. The local stuff is what killed me. All the network services, samba, nfs, apache, nis, squid, sendmail I had no prob, just the local stuff (printing, X, quotas, etc) ended up doing me in.

Good luck, I'm actually kind of curious as to how hard it is, I've never taken a certification for anything so I can't even really imagine what it's like that well.
