Router is already online, but still requires browser dialup [dsl modem] [download speeds]
Q: I have a Netgear WGR 614v6 installed and everything works fine – which means I can go on the internet without problems. Heck, the download speeds appear to be faster than when I use the DSL modem directly connected to my Firefox PC.
But the problem is still prompting me to the Internet via dial-up broadband – I get the windows dial-up dialog box. I can not seem to get this resolved, but I thought it must be an institution that I do not know off.
Anyone care to help me be?
Thanks a lot!
Re:Select the DIrect Connection to The Internet button (I misread it earlier)
This will fix it
Re:Select the DIrect Connection to The Internet button
Re:I kid you not. There are 4 options to be selected, namely
1) Direct connection to the internet
2) Auto-detect proxy settings for this network
3) Maunal proxy configuration
4) Autmotic proxy configuration URL
I have selected option 2. And I am using version 1.5.0.1. Well, at least since I have set the IE internet connection to "Never Dial A Connection" the pop-up has so far not appeared.
Re:What version of Firefox ? ? … it is in All of them as far as I know … Open Firefox
and Click on Tools, General Tab, Connection Settings, Never Dial A Connection … it
is just above the Auto Detect check box … you should be at the latest version 1.5.0.1
Re:Curious . . . have set to "never dial a connection" on Internet Explorer but my version of Firefox does not have the option. It is currently on auto-detect proxy settings for this network.
Re:Tools, Options, General Tab, Connection Settings .. Select never dial a connection
That should fix it
