serious problem with Windows XP, please help [critical error] [windows xp]

Q: I just kind of a clean Windows XP Pro (with SP1), but once in a while I get the following critical error:

windows should be closed, and if you have unsaved work now, because all progress would be lost store.

windows be stopped because the remote command protocol (RPC) initalize

then not I get 60 seconds to do something to save and then I can boot Windows again. What is going on here? TIA

Re:install the patch, follow removal instructions on symantec's site. and get a firewall (I recommend zonealarm)

Get some antivirus going, clean your system and run windows update.
