Showing hidden files and folders [wich] [folders]
Q: Is it possible to see hidden files and folders in a specific folder? I have some folders in “My Documents” created by some applications (I have an “Adobe” a “Corel User Files”, “InterVideo, etc.) and I attrubute hidden to them.
Best Answer: 1. Click the round blue Start thing in the left corner
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click Folder Options
4. Click the View tab
5. Click Show hidden files and folders
6. If you want to see system files as well, unclick Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
7. Click OK

It'll make them always show up, but everything else will be hidden.
Or am I answering the wrong question?

You can "always show" file extensions of this type …if that helps.
Start/Ctrl Panel/Folder Options/File Types/[?File Type?]/Advanced/ ?Check the box ?Always show the extension for files of this type?.

I think he wants to selectively show hidden files on a per directory basis. What you are telling him to do is a system wide change.
