Best Answer: This Free proxy will unblock some popular sites including Facebook, Youtube and MySpace.
The IP address changes every day.
Today's address, June 8th, is: 184.73.21.37
Configure the proxy setting in your browser to this address and port 80 to use this.
The daily address update is available at these sites every morning:

http://www.wildtunnel.com
http://www.unspyable.com
http://www.hackmenot.com
http://www.personalvpn.biz
http://www.countersurf.com
This paid service gets past even the most restrictive blockers that block proxies. It will work where proxies fail.

Re:Yea, the HD's are in DMA. Haven't tried shutting off system restore, but at this point it doesn't matter. ^_^ I don't feel like running thru all of my settings again so…i may go ahead and give that a try and see if it helps.
Re:Check your HDD's are in DMA mode and if your feeling brave turn off system restore and see if the problem goes away.
But only if your feeling brave as it will delete all your restore points!!!!!
Re:ok, tried that…still the same.
Heres a my boot sequence..as you can see, its hanging up on explorer.exe

Re:both of you above me their have great points..BUT…
The last time i installed..i restarted after EVERY program. I installed, i believe, Office 2003, restarted and it froze. I done system restore, everything was fine. I then installed Office 2003 again and restarted, nothing. Worked fine. Then i installed Winamp, restarted,..nothing. Then i installed photoshop, restarted..freeze. System restore, everything was fine, re-installed PS, restarted, worked fine. So its not a specific program or anything.
I have ALL updated drivers for components as well as the newest bios. I will try your point of uninstalling the nvidia drivers right now, i'll go ahead and d/l the new ones from the site, altho i believe they're the ones i've got, but..i'll uninstall and see if that helps, i have not tried it so its worth a shot. btw, i have nothing starting up except for my logitech mouse stuff and steam. Which neither were starting up until AFTER i started having this prob so i know they're not the culprits. I'll update ina few mins!
Re:If I understand you correctly, the freezing occurs only during startup. If that's true, I really don't think your problem is due to a corrupted registry. Most likely there is some part of a program being installed that is playing havoc with the normal startup routine.
1. When you install programs or drivers, sometimes they insert into the registry a list of things to do on the next boot (usually related to removing old files or performing some test). When the problem occurs, could you try at least two reboots to see if it's temporary or permanent?
2. nVidia drivers had a habit of crippling my startup times in XP. The system would randomly sit at the boot logo for up to a minute. Try uninstalling the video drivers and see if the system boots without that 8-20 sec. delay. Also try to remove the nForce drivers (really just the IDE/RAID stuff, in fact).
Re:Does this happen right after windows finishes installing or after you start installing whatever software you use?
If it's after 3rd party software that might be it, if it's after windows maybe its a bad windows disk but I've never heard of anything like that happening with a bad disk. there any scratches on it, or do you have another O.S. you can install, even if its only to test it?
Re:good call. I posted it up top. ^_^ Thanks.

Do you have a link to the previous thread?
New people probably don't want to make suggestions that you've already tried, and your previous troubleshooting might shed some light on the underlying problem.
