Q: My old username on XP was “blackburn. I installed xp about himself and slipstreaming using nLite (thanks guys!: D! Securing the FTP problem) and now my username is forfuckssakes “because I can not use” black burn “. I went and deleted the folder Blackburn (apparently XP does not provide for rubbish that is left) 0.

XP still basically functions as that account still exists and can not be used as a name, but it will not let approached me. A kind of evil ghost.

GRRR.

Re:It doesn't show up in any of those places. Aargh. No big deal, it's just a name..

Re:The profile with your old name is not there, because you deleted blackburn folder before deleting profile. Look again into User Profiles and delete the one the says somethinhg like – uknown profile. Also, you may have to delete blakcburn user name from the Users object of Local Users and Groups in Computer Management

Re:Try going to the registry (start -> run -> regedit) and search for instances of the name that can be deleted.

Re:The profile isn't there but XP still insists that it still exists and can't be used.

>_<

Re:Did you make sure that the PROFILE was deleted also?
