strange problem with Windows Notepad / why? [windows notepad] [linux forum]
Q: Saw this in a Linux forum, and initially was not going to try because it sounded stupid. But it really works, and I am looking forward to why.
Quite simple. In Windows Notepad, type the following and nothing else:
this break
Now app can save and open it in notepad, and the characters are clearly legible. Further investigation showed that the actual character have nothing to do. Type “aaa aaa aaaa aaaaa causes the same behavior.
Best Answer: You should be able to access a forum without having to make changes to your own computer, otherwise the forum would be losing out on a lot of new members if they don't know how to do the steps you've been told.
I would first suggest accessing the website from a different computer entirely. If the same message appears, then it's likely the forum has been hacked, and you should NOT under any circumstances do what it tells you.
