Background: I have Time Warner / RoadRunner cable for my ISP and a dynamic IP. My modem is a Motorola Surfboard 5100. Im running WinXP w/SP2 and Im using the built-in NIC on my MSI Diamond Plus Mobo.

Problem with WRT54G SSID broadcast [linksys wrt54g] [laptop]

Q: Ive Linksys WRT54G v3.1 with latest Linksys firmware.
I him with WEP encryption.
windows xp (for now) 0.

, when I go to the SSID broadcast, laptop detects the netwrok, I enter the key and it works fine.
Then I disable SSID boadcast, yet in order (I see it as avaibale network in the list). But if I SSID, and then return to the old SSID (no broadcast), laptop does not show the network as available, and I can not connect.
Same problem when I reboot after disabling

Linksys Wireless Clients – PCI vs USB [linksys wrt54g router] [linksys wrt54g]

Q: Well, planning on making my home wireless network. For the deal to go to Amazon.com for a Linksys WRT54G router. Trying to figure out if I should go for USB client adapters (WUSB54G) or PCI (WMP54G). I am inclined USB, as both towers were on the floor. Any advice or issues with the USB version? Just checking. Q: I bought a Linksys WRT54GS Best Buy about a week ago and it is running great since I svesoft firmware installed and increased the signal strength of 84mw. I do not really care if I burn up supposedly because I have not heard anyone actually goes bad after increasing the signal strength.

So . If you walk WRT54G/GS with increased signal strength, please post what model, how long it has been implemented with an increased signal, signal strength, and if it fails or not acting weird.
