This is one long shot, but I have a question . [driver netgear] [asus a7v133]

admin / May 24th, 2011/ Posted in Operating Systems / No Comments »

Q: This is my setup:
Windows Me
Verizon DSL
using RASPPPOE
AMD 1.33ghz
(latest BIOS and VIA 4 in 1 driver) PCI 10/100 Ethernet
Netgear (without knowing the model off hand)

My problem since upgrading my system to the above configuration,
whenever I try to download large files from 200 + MB, always KERNAL32
crashes through
I about halfway into windows and must hard reboot. This happens with Windows Me the
basic download, Getright download program, download and accelerator
5. Do you think this is a Windows issue? That
is motherboard problem causing a problem with my ethernet card? Could it be drivers? I
using those involved in the ethernet card. (Maybe Ill check new
ones) But I never had this problem before I upgraded to Windows ME my
motherboard ASUS and AMD processor. The Ethernet card from my old system too.
My Ethernet card installed in the fourth PCI slot, the one that supposed
to shared with my USB controller. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!: (

Re:I did reinstall Me when I upgraded my system. I didn't have a problem
downloading in Me until I upgraded. I did sign up for the beta and
have downloaded Win XP RC2. I was using it briefly until I upgraded and
decided to return to Me since I wouldn't hvae to reinstall the OS
in six months when the evaluation period expires. I guess I can change OSs
again……hmmmm…

Re:Well,
I would, but I it is already set at 1.2 gigs.
Thanks anyway

Re:Increase the size of your 'Temporary Internet Files Folder' to something larger than 200 MB.

Re:It might be worth it to reinstall Me, generaly you should reinstall the OS after changing motherboards, another option would be to go with the more stable and generaly better OS win2k. Millenium has a lot of bugs and is not particularly stable, unless you are playing games that will only run in ME I would switch to 2k, especialy if you dont want to move to XP for a while.

Re:Bump for you. It could be any number of things. Possibly a "download size cap" by your ISP? (To conserve their bandwidth.)
