to best monitor gaming [rich friend] [gaming computer]
Q: So im building a gaming computer for my super-rich, and I mean rich friend. He instruced be given to the best setup for gaming. Im stuck on the monitor. I want a CRT must be large, but also really good, and fast. im looking for perhaps the most expensive thing there. Suggestions? im not good at this $ 10,000 or more budget. : D
Re:Just as a note. Any LCD claiming faster response times are either a)Fudging their numbers to look good on paper or b) cutting on other aspects of quality to speed up the response time.
More than likely if a 19" LCD monitor claims faster than a 20ms response time they have very poor lighting, viewing angle, contrast ratio or are running fewer colors.
The best LCD right not for the money IMO is the Dell 1905FP I got for $299

Re:Viewsonic is working on a 4ms LCD but I'm not sure what kind of quality it'll be, for a good CRT NEC all the way
Re:According to PC Magazine, some company is developing an LCD with like a 5 ms response time… Forgot when its coming out though.

Oh, and if he really has a big budget, England is developing an LCD that uses diamond fragments embedded in the moniter to make it look better or something, and can go up to 100"
