Re:"Bootable" CDs that don't can be used to make bootable CDs based on floppy images that work by downloading the floppy image of your choice and then burning a "floppy emulation" CD using that image with no necessary. Download a ME boot image file (.ima, img, etc) and then add the ME CD contents to the rest of your compilation.

Re:have you been fiddling with the floppy as having the floppy cable on reversed can give that error.
is the light at the front of the floppy constantly on as this occurs when the cable is reversed!

Re:thanx for the help guyz,
i just said screw WinMe and installed WinXP
for some reason winme wouldnt load from the cd. i was gunna use that XP cd for my main computer….

the computer i was askin for help with is a shuttle barebone sv25 with 1.1gig. intel processor.
still havnt got the floppy working? i tried 1 new floppy, and 1 other . :(

BTW to eliminate confusion….we posted the question on my wifes computer…cuzz my computer was down and the new computer was down…..

Re:when you get the error you might also be prompted to hit a key for setup or a key to continue. should be at the bottom of the screen. from there, you can do what is mentioned above, altho you will still get that error when you boot unless you remove the floppy physically or in the bios.

Re:Get into your BIOS and make sure that the CD is selected to boot from first. If you are asking this question it might be a bit over your head, but might as well throw it out there for you and let you decide….

When your computer first boots you get a POST screen where the computer recognizes the hardware inside and shows you what it has…. usually. If you have some dell or OEM computer you might get a screen with an image. Press ESC to get out of that screen as soon as it comes up.

If your computer has an intel motherboard you will want to press F2

If it isn't then it will probably be either DEL, F1 or some other key to get in. You can tell what you need by looking at the bottom for the right key to press. It should tell you.

At any rate, get in there and change the boot priority to have CD be the first. That should be it. There are some other issues you may run into but if the computer is new enough to run WinMe then I would think that you wouldn't run into them.
