USB hub . someone better than another? [port model] [usb hub]
Q: Well here is my next purchase, Im looking for a USB hub, so far my choices are the Linksys 4-port model, the Belkin 4-port model, or the digital research 4-port model (looks like as the Linksys so I think it is a rebrand) 0.
I like the Linksys because it is cheaper 29.99 shipped, and it goes with my other computer hardware, but I like the front ports to the Competition rears on others.
The BELKIN is what we ordered for Clent at work, but that the government and they can afford to 60 of our tax payers U.S. dollars to throw away, each hub as they want, I can not justify spending $ 60 on a hub, granted I can get discounts for 40, but thats more than the linksys.
and Finally, the digital research that I could have had, or $ 11, but that deal is not going through, had a coupon for the best online and it gives me errors.
any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Re:no believe me I know what their cd roms are like, I bought a 48x cd rom and returned it like an hour later because it was horrible, data transfer times were horrible and such, but this hub that they are selling looks exactly like the linksys one, and I know DR does not manufacture their own stuff, instead they rebadge like iomagic and memorex and such, all of those companies dvd roms look alike. I will see if it is crap and if it is take it back, but if it is the linksys one then for 11 bucks that is cheaper than what I could get it for rebate.
edit: another odd thing is that they both share the same model number, except the dr one has dr infront of it, they are both usbhub04–for their manufacturer model number, I have a good feeling they are the same hub

If you ever have to return it, you may as well forget it. They don't answer emails, phones anything. They are a scam company. I have had 6 CDROM drives die from them. I bought 2 originally, they died within a month, the replacements took 9 weeks to get here, they died in about 2 weeks. Sent those back, the new replacements took 14 weeks to get to me, and they were both DOA, I sent them back and not 6 months later no drives have come yet.
Avoid that company like the plague.

Re:well just got the best buy online site to accept my order, so now I am getting the DR usb hub for 11 bucks, from what I see it looks just like a linksys unit and I know DR has a habit of rebadging devices like memorex and such. well if anyone feels like giving any additional info I would greatly appreciate it thanks
