Use DSP enhancement plug-in for Winamp? What are some good ones? [dsp] [enhancement]
Q: I am currently demonstrating DFX v6.0 for Winamp and my before and after is very clear. Has anyone bought the full version with 3D sound? Like it? Any other good guys out there that you recommend?

Re:Instead of a DSP plugin, try the MAD input plugin. It will bring your mp3s to a whole new level.
Re:<< I don't like DSP filters when using with lossy compression as the artifacts become much more apparent, destroying what good work went into masking noise behind other sounds. I would suggest that you try out Enhancer 0.17 (http://www.publi.ro/ady/enhancer.htm) before buying DFX, as Enhancer will do basically the same thing, but it's free. Though if you really like what DSP does, don't let anything stop you from using it
Though it is true that a DSP filter does tarnish the originally intended acoustics, I like the fact that my 128kbps mp3's sound a little better than when no filter is used at all.
Your suggestion worked great. Thanks!

Re:These plugins are all about sound coloring. They amplify the treble and bass, and soften the middle-of-the-road frequencies. They completely pervert the acoustic characteristics of the song.
Re:I have dee and don't really like it too much…
Guess it's all a personal matter…
Re:<< errrrrrm…
Do a search on winamp for wowthing…
apparently their site doesn't have the plug-in for winamp >>

Do you own the hardware plugin?
// Installed WOW. Not a great improvement. A plugin called DEE seems to be pretty good.

Re:i might wanna give it a shot although I tend to shy away from DSP and EQ as I prefer to keep the sound as close to the original as possible
