Using Xvid to DVD copying and distorting than 1 1 / 2 hours [gordian knot] [pixelation]
Q: It works fine for the first half hour, but after that pixelation progressively worse until it is unwatchable and eventually it sound like well
This is using the 2.5 Avisynth filter included in the latest Gordian Knot
Also, in the past Im using Divx and created the right size, whether 1.2 or 3 CDs. With Xvid, I often chop off part of the loans as they big movie. I even manually resized in the second pass and had no effect.
Re:I've had excellent luck with Auto-Gordian Knot and the latest XVid codec (Release candidate 3). So far, the CD sizes have been right on, and quality has been consistent throughout the video. For me, the settings used by Auto-GK have worked great, and its waaaaay easy to use.

Odd Ive ripped dozens of movies with Fairuse/xivd… never any issue at all.
How much space does it use?

Yeh, I thought it was a bit daunting when I first started converting, but its actually FAR EASIER to understand than trying to get to grips with something like GK or DVDx 2.2……and it has the bonus of a full guide (make a snapshot of that link with Snag It or something)….. and your in control……and (this is the important bit) you actually start to understand whats being done……….plus its so easy……..it makes you wonder why people bother doing it any otherway!
Check your system for some of those appz as things like GK or DVD2SVCD include a lot of them anyway. If you use HeadAC3e download the Lame plug ins etc from the web address in the pop ups (if you don't have them already…..i think there is three to install).
Slight problem, found the VFAPI Reader codec and downloaded it. However, when I open it and try to load the d2v file it gives me a popup error message that says Error and is surrounded by ? marks, could you recommend another frameserver or a link to a working version of VFAPI Reader?
Playing around with Fairuse as well. I got tired of Xvid distorting the last part of the movie so I made a backup copy using divx 5 in GK last night. I still want to try and use Xvid though
Re:FAIRUSE (http://fairuse.free.fr/lang_en/index.html)
Easy as pie

Dunno. Try this route for perfect xvids.
Rip = SmartRipper or DVDDecrypter
Demux= DVD2AVI
FrameServe= VFAPI
Bitrates= Xvid Bitrate Calculator
Editing= VDub
Audio Downsample=HeadAC3e or BeSweet
Mux= NanDub.
Job done and superb quality………..I find xvid superior to DivX.
For a Guide on how to do it…………..

That's a nice guide. A little more work than I wanted to do, but I might try that tonight
