What DVD Burning software to use? [ldw 411s] [clonecd]
Q: I bought a LiteOn LDW-411S. I was wondering what are the best DVD burning programs. The cost of the software is not a problem .* * For CD burning I used Nero, Roxio 6 and CloneCD / DVD. All these programs have a DVD-burning features, but Im not sure if they are good. What do you use / recommend?
I plan to be used for both the drive for data backup and backup of my commercial DVDs. I hope to copy the DVD directly with 1:01 menus, etc and not having to avi / mpg files first to make. Do any of the programs I easily do this?

Re:For encoding and making menus for your own stuff, nothing beats the combo of TMPGEnc Plus and TMPGEnc DVD author. Of course, it has no burning abilities (You'll still need Nero) and it's about $100 for the pair.
Great software though. The actual encoding process is SMP-aware. A dual 2.26GHz Athlon can encode CBR MP2 video + audio at almost real time.
Re:I have been using Stomp's RecordNow Max! 4.5 for burning data and my own authored DVDs. I have not had one bad experience using it.
Re:Yeah I have an OEM version. I'd pay $20 to upgrade, but not $99 or whatever the ridiculous price is for the regular version.
The OEM came with my Lite-on CDRW, was like 5.5.5
When 5.5.10 came out with DVD support, it wouldn't let me upgrade my OEM version 
So now I'm on a trial version.
Can I upgrade for only $20 with an OEM version?

If you have an old or bundled Nero you could pay the $20(?) to get the full version.

for dvd backups you simply cannot beat: DVD Shrink 3 Beta 5 (decrypts and rips), then burn files with NERO 6 in DVD video mode. Drag all files to Video_TS folder.
