What is wrong with my computer? PLS HELP! [computer help] [video card]
Q: Having trouble with one of my rigs.
When I turn it on it will only POST halfway monitor dies. WTF! If the Post, it will show me the video card, CPU, RAM, hard drives detected, and the “Press DEL to setup” message, then the monitor off. I tried to go the movies, but apparently the keyboard and got no juice or non-functional. When the monitor dies, it seems that the computer is still running . fans run, CD-ROM led blinks and the CPU fan is running. Monitor and KB works since I use the right setup now.

Best Answer: The monitor is no clue, that's just what they do if they're not getting a signal.
You can force it to switch off by holding in the power button for ten seconds. Or, pull the plug for a few seconds. Try booting again.
Failing that, disconnect anything unnecessary (eg. external hard drives, iPod, mobile phone, storage cards, printer, etc.) and try again.
If the optical drive will open while it's powered on, if there's a disc in it, remove it and try again.
If there's nothing happenning at all on the PC (no lights, fans beeps, etc.) then check the fuses, change the plug, try different leads, etc.
Otherwise, your next step is to get someone who knows what they're doing to take a look, or take it to a shop, or open up the case and check that all the bits and pieces are connected securely (something might've worked itself loose, but it's probably best to get someone with at least a bit of experience to try this bit).

Re:yeah normally when the psu goes bad, you just won't get any power, if it isn't enough power then it may affect only a few devices (I don't think that is the case tho, with 350 watts)
