Why not a cheap LCD screens with high resolution desktop to notebooks have 'em? [dell 8500] [lcds]
Q: my dell 8500 (which I warmly dealed for $ 1,100) has a WUXGA screen, 1920×1200, 15.4 inches.
Why is that they can not make a 17 “LCD 1600×1200 for cheap? In fact, do they even sell 17″ LCD do 1600×1200?

holy @$%* AT has a frontpage?
Another interesting point users in the forums brought up was why we do not see resolutions higher than 1280×1024 on LCD?|s in the market today, particularly in the 19?¨ range. We first expected Samsung to let us know how expensive it is to construct a monitor with such a dense resolution on a small surface. We were slightly surprised when they answered that there simply is no demand for it. Many of us know that running an LCD monitor on its non-native resolution typically renders the image pixilated. Since the majority of the consumer market tends to use a 1280×1024 resolution on 19?¨ LCDs, running a non native 1280×1024 on a 1600×1200 resolution LCD would result in a constantly pixilated image.
1280×1024 on 19" lcds? blech… guess I'll have to wait seeing I don't have enough to buy a 24".
Samsung did point out to us that they have a 24?¨ LCD (the 241WD) that is capable of 1920×1600 resolutions.

isn't 1920*1200 a little small for a 15.4 inch screen?
And what is the response time…people don't buy notebooks for gaming like people buy LCDs
it's okay, just use the dpi adjuster in winxp, it does 1600×1200 also. But the point is that they're able to make these, I don't want a 15" 1600×1200 desktop lcd, I want a 17" one.
btw, the response time is 35ms. that's kinda bad??? don't know, but the screen is fine to me.
edit: the 1800FP has 30ms response time.
