why the output to 1080i with my HTPC was horozontally squashed? [1080p] [720p]

Q: Its OK to , but when I try to get my windows 1080i output squashed
is the refresh rate? Or what is it?
and something that Ive finished as BD and HD-DVD of their Downscale to 1080i or if you do not have

;) What I was thinking. My Toshiba has 4 frame settings and one will chop off SD 2.35:1 if set to it. But not doing HD and was not confident that it was the same issue.

Re:42" plasmas have a native resolution of 1024×768. Send that to the monitor via the HTPC. Anything else and the display needs to convert it which = a loss in quality.

edit: Actually some sony's may have a resolution of 1024×1024 which may be causing the problem. Check your specs/manual and see what computer resolution it says you should output. 1024×1024 is a bit odd, but that's Sony for you.

yeah, but i mean what exact resolution, in pixels. I would assume 1366×768, but i wanted to make sure.

and yes, the HD formats will downscale to probably whatever you tell it to, unless you have a really crappy TV.
