Win2k can not re . She says I have no hard drives, but . [rook] [hard drives]
Q: but I can install XP fine. I tried formatting, reformatting, formatting system.
Then I thought . Hey, if I can get XP loaded, I can just boot to the Win2k CD and I can XP installation to overwrite . Dice.
Any no other suggestions are appreciated!

Re:XP has built-in ATA-100 support, while with win2k you have to load the drivers yourself…
When the win2k setup is initializing, there will be a msg saying "Press F6 now if you want to install additional RAID drivers" or something similar… at that point you should press F6 and load in your ATA-100 card drivers (drivers must be on a floppy)…
With XP, none of this is needed since XP has the drivers built-in already…
I have to do the same thing even though my motherboard has built-in ATA-100 support… still have to load in the drivers manually with win2k…
Re:It is your pci ide card. The reason xp will install and 2000 won't is because they have driver support in xp and not in 2000. You need to download the drivers and put them on floppy. Make sure txtsetup.oem is on the floppy.
Boot 2000 cd and press f6 when the blue screen appears to install additional scsi drivers.

but XP loads no probs…

Re:I had the same problem. If you are running a raid, insert your Raid's boot-disk/drivers and when Win2k installation start and it saids press (I THINK F5) for if you have any raid's driver, do so, and select your a:\ and select your raid. Then your hard drives will be recognized. If you don't have a raid, provide us with more information. Thanks
