Q: Im new to Win2K

I different programs are installed under Administrator, then created a user for me to work safely. The installed programs are also accessible when I log into a user-friendly, everything except for Musicmatch (audio program). Musicmatch

When I try when I USER I pop-up shows that the directory MusicMatch installed under open it, then I want to ask (or something) access to . If I click yes I get a failed attempt!

What should I do?

Re:Richt-click on the shortcut/executable WHILE HOLDING SHIFT and select "Run As …" This VERY cool service lets you run admin-only programs even though you are logged in as a standard user.

The service, however, doesn't work in all cases (Computer Management comes to mind , when defragging).

Re:Yes. USER had full access.

BTW: I got it working, I had to manually copy the entire contents on the Administrator folder and paste it to the other USER name.

Only thing that still does not work, is a TCP/IP network monitoring program (3rd party). It still tells me "USER does not have permission." Even if I give it full permission.

Could it be because it monitors and uses the TCP/IP stacks (protocols)?

Re:does the user have rights to that directory (permissioning)

Re:Install the same program in USER?

Can this be right? I sure would hate to cludder up my hard drive this way :(

If I had to choose, I would uninstall it in Administrator then install it again as user. This to me is not ideal but better that installing it twice.

Surely there must be a way….?

Also, when I am logged in as Administrator, I can't delete the only other USER I created (in the "User and Password" option). I can delete it under "system->user profile," but not in the other. What gives…
