Windows 2000 Professional -? DLS modem faster? [cable modem connection] [shared connection]
Q: I seem to get about 50% better performance from my cable modem connection . approximately 120-135 kb / s constant. The clients (Windows 98 PCs) on the shared connection seems to be different faster.
Anyone experienced this?
Could that the reinstallation of Win2k Pro straightened a bunch of registry settings that were diddled the past few months (in a never-ending quest for more speed, you know!)
I think Ill like Win2k Pro . seems faster and more stable than 98SE . but Im not a gamer . children, but they need more time on homework and still pay off.

It is mainly due to the fact that ,Win2K and NT has Optimised
For Lan settings by default unlike win98,
Anyway check out the software intelli…
oops forgot the name ..Just search for it in CNET.Com
It enhances the speed settings of the Os even more…
Re:Win2k has an improved tcp/ip stack so d/l's are much quicker. My pings are also much more stable than before.
