winME, how to remove? HELP! [tv tuner card] [dual boot]
Q: On my C: I have Win2k Pro and WinMe,
How can I remove and install win98 se, plain and demagnetisation something and still keep the double boot
reason I do is that I have a TV tuner card bought (zoltrix TV Genie)
and doesntt working under me at all and it works under win2k, but the IR remote does not work, so only option is to install Win98 SE
Best Answer: if you install ME on a different partition, you can dual boot your computer. Make a partition for ME, then install it on there. Then when booting up, tap F8, and choose ME to run instead of XP.

Re:The boot menu should point to root c:\ drive for normal windows already, when 98se is loaded it will place its files back there and when you reset the boot loader it will be looking in the correct place by default.
I may have to go home tonite and load up my back up hd and give this little idea a go.

Re:I have a thought, but no actual gaurentee for it working.
Format a floppy in Win2k.. copy the ntldr, boot.ini and i think there are 1-2 other files needed.. (im not at my win2k box right now)
This floppy will let you boot into Win2k after we kill the mbr.
Delete the Windows folder.. (im assuming win2k is in the winnt folder)
Install 98se.. boot from the floppy into win2k and repair the boot menu.
This is all in theory.. anybody else wanna jump in on this?
