Q: I just connected a wireless w / a 4-port switch (mr814v2) in my wired network. I also have a wireless card for my laptop. I went through the router and enable 128-bit WEP, the wireless card access list. Is there anything else I should do for more security? I just read somewhere about turning off SSID so its not brad casting. Is this true?

Also the wired network is behind a . I turn on the wireless routers DHCP (was told to do so I could see the wired network). I can go online no problem, but can not see the wired network. The ips and subnets are different. I have the ipconfig release and renew the IP and can not not cause that would scew my cable modem Can anyone help me w / this Thanks

Re:Well, you could just use the wireless router for your only router, that would be the easy way.

If you insist on using both, disable DHCP server on the wireless router, and connect one of it's LAN ports to one of the LAN ports on the other system. Do not plug ANYTHING into the WAN port on the wireless router.

Re:IP and Subnet of WAN side of the Router is the ISP number.

All computers of the LAN side have to be of the 192.168.xx.xx kind, and same subnet.

Unless you assign IPs manually to the Computers. DHCP has to be on.
