“Written” CD-RW not playing on my CD player with the LG GSA 4167B burner [portable cd player] [panasonic portable cd player]
Q: Hi everyone, NOT just
My old burner could burn and play CD-RW (home made audio CDs) on my Panasonic portable CD player. Now I have my new LG GSA-4167B, which burns CD-RW audio successfully and could play on my comp, but could not on my portable CD player. Why is it so?
Please help me. I really want to listen to my songs again. Thank you.
Re:Everyone, this is the player (http://reviews.cnet.com/Panasonic_SL_SX330___CD_player/4507-6491_7-30867210.html?tag=nav) I got.
It is CD/RW compatible. So could it be the burner or media(CD-RW) problem? Because I played the burned disk on my standalone DVD player and it works. And my other music albums plays well on my portable CD player.
Any idea? ![]()
Re:Your choices…
(1) Find out what your cd player can play, by only those discs
(2) Get a cd player that can play data discs
(3) Get an iPod (or nano)
I vote for 3
Once you get an iPod, you'll really wonder why you ever bothered with cd players…
It's not just about the iPod, it's also about the software support and the ability to organize your library/search for songs.
I think that's why Apple is so successful, it's more about the integration of hardware and software that makes doing anything seem seamless… too bad you can't customize your own Macs. That's why I have a spanking new homebuilt AMD system instead of a G5.
Re:i still have some cd-rw discs i bought like 4-5 years ago and never used them. cd-rs are so cheap now you can afford to burn a new cd with different music.
if you're worried about changing music, you should buy a mp3 player instead.
Re:Are you using a different brand of media? Some CD players are picky as hell about media.
Re:I don't bother with R/W media…. If you're worried about rewriting, (Since you'd need a new CD player anyways) I'd just invest a CD player that can read data discs, then one CD-RW for 9-10 CD's worth of your music.
Re:I might get bored with the music, I may want to rewrite it
Re:Just buy CD-Rs, they are much cheaper anyway.
Re:drx, did u mean the CD player or the RW disk?
Anyway, my portable CD player DO support RW's.
Re:Not all cd players will play cdrw discs. I think it has something to do with the decreased reflectivity of the discs. This isn't the fault of the burner, rather the player.
