Yes, master? on command prompt? what the hell? [laptop] [hd]
Q: What should I give up. I tried typing on the laptop dirt. This did not work. seriously. what do I enter. Im looking for my old HD format on the laptop.

Re:To make it show 'Yes Master?' at the command prompt, all you would need to do is just put a line in the autoexec.bat file like this:
PROMPT=Yes Master?$g
But who would do that, I dunno

Re:If you're saying the command prompt says "Yes Master?", then someone has overridden the default prompt in the config.sys. If memory serves, it's SET PROMPT=whatever you want it to say.

Re:format /s puts system files on the drive, so it'll be bootable.
If it's been formatted before, I'd go with the format c:/q/u/s for quick and ugly format, with system files.
