Re:Ack – nevermind. I misread the original question. I thought he wanted to know if he could use a dial-up modem on the same line as DSL at the same time. I see now that he wanted to talk on the phone at the same time as using a dial-up modem.
Of course you can't do that.
Oh well, that's what I get for replying to posts when I should be sleeping.

Re:It will work just fine. I have DSL and occasionally need to use my modem to dial into work when I can't do it via VPN. DSL and modem both work fine at the same time.

DSL signals are higher in frequency than the ones that you normally use with your phone. that's why they can coexist on the wire with your phone line. the filter is just there to make sure those high frequencies don't do anything weird to your phones i think.
so on the other end of the phone line, they probably have a similar splitter, hooking the high frequency band up to something like another dsl modem, and the low freq band up to the normal phone hardware on the other end
trouble is, a regular phone modem is designed to operate at the same low frequency as the voice band that you use – and it also doesn't require them to have any special hardware on the other end of the line because of this.
So I'm pretty darn sure it isn't going to work, sorry 
Re:i was wondering this too, anyone sure that it really works? im talking not having dsl and just using the microfilter on a dialup connecting and being able to use the phone will connected?

Re:Not much to offer here just an observation.. if you try to send or recieve fax's from that phone line without the filter on it you will get lots of lines horizontaly across your fax..
