ZoneAlarm Pro Beta 64bit edition [64bit os] [64bit windows]
Q: Zone Labs ZoneAlarm released a 64bit OS on, Ive been waiting a while for this application to get and there was a BETA is better than nothing. Im using the beta for a few days now, and have been working flawlessly. Its free so if someone 64-bit Windows and want a really good firewall that does not take much resources, and head to www.zonelabs.com and downloading free.
Thanks.
(hope this is not a duplicate post, so Yes, sorry.)
Re:O.K. Might give that a shot mate, thanks for the suggestion. I don't really like AVG, because for just using the firewall, I have to have like 3 services running, where Zonealarm just needed 1. That's what I really liked about Zonealarm, small resource usage but quality firewall.

Is it reliable and does it really keep people and certain software out of your computer? I mean I have never kept it enabled, so I have no experience with it.
You are referring to Windows firewall within Windows XP Pro 64bit right?
Yes.

Re:Been using Windows Firewall, seems to work fine.
Re:Actually on my last post I said it was working great, but let me take that back. Since using it I have been getting blue screen crashes that refer to the file vsdatant.sys, which is a file that has to do with Zonealarm. Since it is a BETA, this I guess should of been expected. I uninstalled it and now I am using AVG plus Firewall for now, until Zonealarm officially releases their 64bit version, instead of BETA. Just giving a head's up to anyone who took my advice and is using it, it might not happen to you but if it does, don't worry its just Zonealarm. I originally thought my memory was going back, because of the physical dumping of my memory on the blue screen crash..lol
Just some advice mates.
Re:guy, it has been working great for me so far. I have just the firewall running and have not had any issues at all, one thing i'm a bit confused on is that it's a 64bit firewall, but it installed into the C:\Program Files (x86) folder, which is weird because it's supposed to be a native 64bit application.
Re:i may have to try this out
Re:I'd be decently excited if I had a 64bit OS… alas I don't. Still good to know though.
Re:I guess nobody was really waiting for this release, guess im the only one….lol
Great firewall nonetheless.
